Jerry Rittimann has always had
animals to raise. If it wasn't milk goats it was steers or hogs that
the family would slaughter and package for their own use. (Of course
it helped having a father -in-law that was a butcher)
In 2003 after paying alot more to shear his rambouillet sheep than
he was able to sell the wool for, he went looking for something
different. After doing a little research on meat sheep he sold his
Rambouillet, purchased his first dorpers, and has never looked back.
It wasn't long before his son-in-law JP started helping out by
feeding, drenching, and all the other jobs son-in-laws get to do,
that his interest in raising his own group of dorpers struck him.
Now it is a family affair. |

Jerry is currently only raising fullblood dorpers
while Jp is building a group of fullbloods, purebreds, and some
percentage dorpers.
Our goal here at Rittimann Acres/ Single Hand Ranch is to raise high
quality dorpers that can be used for the continued Dorper breed
improvement and animals that will improve any commercial flock large
or small.
